Info about Qatar (History)

Qatar is a country located in West Asia and occupies the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Its only border is the border with Saudi Arabia, the monarchy of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which is adjacent to the south, and the rest of its territory is surrounded by the Persian Gulf. The Gulf of Bahrain, a cove in the Persian Gulf, separates Qatar from nearby Bahrain. The capital is Doha.

In early 2017, Qatar had a total population of 2.6 million, with 313,000 Qatar citizens and 2.3 million expatriates. Qatar's state religion is Islam. In terms of income, the country has the third highest per capita GDP (PPP) in the world and the sixth highest per capita GNI (Atlas Act). Qatar is classified by the United Nations as a country with very high human development and has the third highest HDI in the Arab world after the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Qatar is the World Bank's high-income economy, supported by the world's third-largest natural gas and oil reserves. Qatar is the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas and the world's largest emitter of per capita greenhouse gases.

Qatar has been governed by the Tani family since Mohammed bin Tani signed a treaty in 1868 that recognized another position with Britain. Following the reign of the Ottoman Empire, Qatar became a British protectorate in the early 20th century and became independent in 1971. Qatar's genetic chief governs as Autocrat (now Tamim bin Hamad Altani), retains all enforcement and legislative powers, and has a judicial system. He appoints the prime minister and the cabinet.

In the 21st century, Qatar emerged as an important force in the Arab world through its wealth of resources and the globally expanding media group Al Jazeera Media Network, financially supporting several rebel groups during the Arab Spring. It is reported that it was done. Due to its size, Qatar exerts disproportionate influence in the world and is identified as middle power. The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar and will be the first Muslims and Arab countries to host this event. The 2030 Asian Games will also be held in Qatar.
