Officially the Republic of Honduras, Honduras is a country in Central America. Honduras society is mainly Mestizo. However, Native Americans, blacks, and white individuals also live in Honduras (2017). The country had relatively high political stability until the 2009 coup and until the 2017 presidential elections.

Honduras covers an area of ​​approximately 112,492 km2 (43,433 square miles) and has a population of over 9 million. Its north is part of the Western Caribbean region, as reflected in the region's demographics and culture. Honduras is known for its abundant natural resources such as minerals, coffee, tropical fruits and sugar cane, as well as the growing textile industry that serves the international market.
